In recent years, examiners from all agencies have been "targeting" the flood insurance area during compliance exams. In several cases penalties have been imposed. This two-hour webinar covers the major rules of the Flood Disaster Protection Act.

WHAT?
Most of the violations examiners identify involve a basic misunderstanding of the rules of coverage and other requirements. Common violations involve errors on the Standard Flood Hazard Determination Form, failure to require flood insurance and the failure to deliver the Notice of Special Flood Hazards.

This program provides the base of knowledge needed to avoid the frequently cited violations and obtain a positive outcome in flood insurance examinations. This two-hour webinar provides:

- A thorough review of the law, the regulations and the interagency questions and answers;
- Information on the most common violations;
- Training tips;
- Policy and procedure suggestions; and
- Audit techniques.

WHY?
The program provides the information needed by the lending, compliance and audit staff to assure ongoing compliance with the law. Participants receive a detailed manual that serves as a handbook long after the program is completed.

PROGRAM CONTENT
The program covers the basic requirements of the Flood Disaster Protection Act including:

- Coverage and exemptions;
- Documentation requirements;
- Form completion; and
- Insurance requirements.
- Special situations -
- Condominiums, coops and timeshares;
- Construction loans;
- Escrow rules; and
- Force placement.

WHO?
The program is designed for loan officers, compliance officers, loan secretaries and clerks and auditors. The program is presented at the basic level.
